The easternmost town in the US

Lubec borders Canada.
It used to be a small fishing village.
In the past, there were abundant fish resources along the coastline.
They were overfishing over the years, all these fish have become extinct.
Both by local fishermen and by international trawlers, ground fishing is has disapeared.
Used to be a lot of fish processing factories along the coast.
Now factories are all gone and so much of main street closed down.
It is no longer a fishing village now.
Some new people have moved into these days seem to be artists.
The town hasn't recovered like it used to.
So a lot of young people, unless they want to stay fishing or something out, try to find better economic work somewhere else.
That's true the whole state of Maine.

English can be very exacting with its words, so always aim to be clear by using 'the' or referring to the exact thing of which you were speaking. I notice in your writing that connectives would be very helpful to create a smoothness, e.g., 'but' or 'and'.
