The Cucumber Inspector

When I went to the supermarket yesterday, I saw an elderly man in the vegetable section. He was dressed casually—nothing suspicious. He was examining each cucumber. Literally, every single one on the shelf.
I wanted to get one myself, but he stood there for at least five minutes, inspecting cucumber after cucumber, as if one of them were his long-lost wife.
I got kind of creeped out and left without buying one.
I do buy individually sold vegetables from time to time, but after seeing that, it feels weird thinking someone might have touched mine the same way.

This is not a complete sentence, but it is a great way to emphasize your point and this writing is casual so it's fine!
