The benefit of writing

First, when I go to the store, I forget the groceries my mum told me to buy, so I make a list.
Second, I can write letters to St, Nicolas and Santa Claus, what gifts to bring me.
Next, I have relatives in Australia, so we´re sending postcards.
Finally, to make learning easier, we write down what is important and what we need to learn.

Corrections

Firstly, when I go to the store, I forget the groceries my mum toldells me to buy, so I make a list.

1. "First of all, ..." could also be used.

2. You would use present tense for "tell(s)", instead of past tense "told", since you're describing a series of actions in a common habitual situation. (Note: not always though, by some speakers this might be seen as normal.)

Secondly, I can write letters to St,. Nicholas and Santa Claus, on what gifts to bring me.

1. Not sure if this is a mistake or intentional, but you should note, "St. Nicholas" is usually considered the same person as "Santa Claus".

2. Here "on" means "about/relating to"

Next, I have relatives in Australia, so we´re sending postcards.

Finally, to make learning easier, we write down what is important and what we need to learn.

Feedback

Well-written, with only a slight mistake or two. Keep it up!

Sidenote (which I forgot lol): For the title, "Benefits of Writing" might sound more general, which fits here more.
