The Arepa
Arepas are a traditional food from my country which is Venezuela. They are eaten throughout all the country.
In my home we eat almost every day at least one of them in our mealtimes, whether in the breakfast, lunch or dinner, and I would say that this not only happen in my home but also it is a normal meal in the Venezuelan houses.
Arepas are like a bread made from precooked corn flour, which the better known brand around the globe is the PAN flour.
I'm describing them like a bread but his flavour and texture is very different, though (despite that) they can be filled with any filling like a bread.
Arepas are an excellent, affordable and traditional food for us and we like them a lot. They have been part of us for a long time, and in my case for all my life.
There 's a battle between Venezuelans and Colombians about where arepas were invented but perhaps in another journal I can write a little about it.
