Text to practice new vocabulary

(text to practice the use of: joint (pizza joint), rip-off, observe (notice), undertake (promise), undertake (to do something hard), resume, regard, insert, unwind (relax), unwind, occupation (hobby))

Today I had afternoon classes. Since I forgot to prepare my lunch box, I asked Mike if he wanted to share a pizza and as he agreed I called the pizza joint, but no one answered because it was unluckily closed so we eventually decided to buy something from the vending machine in the hallway. Those sandwiches are a real rip-off!
After lunch we resumed our classes. Even if I was exhausted our science teacher made afternoon lessons feel bearable, I have the greatest regard for that man. We undertook a simple experiment to observe how hydrolysis works and it was quite interesting, but a even more intresting thing is that Mike undertook to do my homework as a pay back since I bought him that overpriced sandwich during lunch time.
Now I just got home and can finally do my favorite occupation to unwind, sleep.

Hi! Thank you for the correction but I noticed that you corrected a lot of words that I was supposed to practice by writing this text, also, it was purposely written as if the reader was a friend of the narrator (so the reader knows who Mike is and which pizza joint the narrator is talking about). Thank you again for your time!

Thank you for letting me know your goals using LangCorrect.

My edits were to correct grammatical errors, improve clarity, accuracy, and transition of ideas.

Instead of using new vocabulary words in a “story,” maybe you could practice them at the sentence level.

You wrote, “… it was purposely written as if the reader was a friend of the narrator (so the reader knows who Mike is and which pizza joint the narrator is talking about)”. This impacts the clarity of your writing, which may be a reason why few correctors are reviewing your posts.

So you're saying that I should make short sentences with each word instead of a singular long story with all the new words I learn? right?

Thank you so much for the support, it's really useful
