It is always fun to share cultures and foods with people from different backgrounds. I recently noticed that myself could have better understanding with my culture and food.
For example, I tried to explain that what was "Hong Kong-style milk tea", which is a signature drink in Hong Kong, to my colleague today. Besides the language barrier, I realised that I don't really know what is inside to this special beverage.
According to the Wiki, it is a tea drink made from Ceylon tea, black tea and condensed milk. It is different from the UK, which using milk instead of condensed milk. Hongkongers believe that condensed milk could give the tea a richer feel.
During the making process, bartenders would use a sackcloth bag to filter the tea leaves, in order to make the tea smoother. There is another fun drink called Yuenyeung, which is mixed milk tea and coffee together!
