Sunday

Today it is Sunday, and, in the street in front of my apartment, there was a street market as usual. Now it's late afternoon and it is already over, but the sky is still blue and bright. For today, the beginner saxophonist with the not-very-promising taste came back after two weeks. But, thank god, he was gone after playing what seems to be Take Five only ten minutes or so. Then, an electric guitarist came and played some music quietly for a while. it's a peaceful, good Sunday.

Today it is Sunday, and, in the street in front of my apartment, as usual, there was a street market as usual.

Now it's late afternoon and it is already overthe street market has already finished/ended, but the sky is still blue and bright.

Past perfect tense (has ~ed) because the market finished in the past tense, but it is still relevant to the current moment

It --> street market just for clarity, as "it" could refer to either "Sunday" or "street market"

For tToday, the beginner saxophonist with the not-very-promising taste came back after (being gone for) two weeks.

It's 100% understandable as is : ) there were some small mistakes, but the main thing is that your sentences could be more concise/efficient. That'll come with time, though!

Thank you for your corrections, and sorry for this late reply, but... ChatGPT says I see what you mean now. In casual or personal writing, it's perfectly acceptable to use "the" to refer to a person or thing you've experienced before, even if you haven't mentioned them in public or in the same writing piece previously.

In your case, if you're writing in a personal mode and you feel a sense of familiarity or annoyance with the saxophonist, using "the saxophonist" with the definite article "the" can help convey that feeling effectively. It adds a sense of personal connection or history with the person, even if you haven't explicitly mentioned them before in the writing.

So, yes, you have the right to openly express your personal feelings and experiences, and using "the" to refer to someone or something you've encountered before, even if not mentioned previously in the same writing, is a valid and natural way to do so."

Do you agree?
