I've learned these strategies in podcast, books, and apps. Use and try those that works for you.
Identify

Have you ever tried to solve something without knowing clearly what is this about? Tricky, right? The same happens to emotions: we need to know what we are feeling in order to know how to respond assertively to them.
The first step to improve your well being is to name your emotions. Ask yourself: how do I feel in this moment?
Accept
It's important to remember that any emotion has its own purpose, for example, sadness might be a reminder that you need to change something in your life.
Try to accept your emotions without judgement, no matter how god or bad they are.
Giving it Enough Time
It's said that time heals all wounds and it's true.
Think about a hard situation you're experiencing in this moment and take a pause. Imagine how would you feel about this situation in one day, in one week, in one month, and in one year. Can you see how your emotions change? What would you think about this situation five years later?

Mindfullness is about being conscious in the present moment and, sometimes, there are a lot of things to do (especially in these days near to Christmas) so it's common to start multitasking.
