Story about Lamb Kebabs (4) - Why I Bought from Uyghur Race

The reasons for those who buy lamb kebabs from the Uyghur race vary. If you ask me, I think the main reason is they are selling real lamb; they were born as Islamic, so I do believe they dare not sell fake lamb meat on the stall. However, other people generally sell pork, duck, or even mice and horses but claim sheep or lamb.

The stalls look unhygienic; nevertheless, the skewers taste good. The experience of buying lamb kebabs was not always happy. Once upon a time, in the early 2000s, in Chengdu( a city in Southwestern China). A group of Uyghurs camped on the street near a five-star hotel and I thought they were a family, aged from several children, young couples, and elders. After I bought three lamb kebabs, I accidentally dropped one piece of meat to the floor and kicked the dropped meat aside. Suddenly, A young Uyghur man who sold the meat a few seconds ago pointed me with a knife while shouting loudly in their own language, showing disgruntled. I had to bow down to pick up the meat quickly to comfort him, then get away at once.

later that, I seldom buy their kebabs at their stalls in any city. In a long time period, we Han race often complained we were treated unfairly when compared to Uyghurs.

Nice job! Using the word "race" sounds a little rude/offensive here, so I corrected it to Uyghurs. You can also say "Uyghur people". Grammatically, "the Uyghur race" is correct, but people might interpret that phrasing in a negative way.

Thank you so much!
If I say "I am Han race", does it sound offensive or arrogant?

It's not grammatical. I think it's best to say "I'm Han Chinese" or "I'm Han". If you want to explain more, you can say something like "Han Chinese is the largest ethnic group in China". You could say also say "My ethnicity is Han" or "I belong to the Han ethnic group". "My race is Han" - it doesn't sound arrogant, especially since you're speaking about yourself, but the word "race" is kind of sensitive in English speaking culture, so if you decide to use it keep this in mind.
