”Sophia, a famous robot and global icon of AI, wins hearts at Zimbabwe’s innovation fair”

This is the title of the Daily News Article that I chose for a Rarejob online English conversation lesson last night.
Since I'm a non-native English speaker, I sometimes confuse or misundestand news titles.
I knew well about "Sophia" which came from Greek word, "knowledge." You may see it in "phylosophy" (phylo=love, like, sophy=knowledge). I learned it at high school.
However, no matter how I knew about "Sophia" it turned out to be no use, because I misunderstood the title as something like this:
"Sophia, a famous robot and global icon of AI, gets/accuires her feeling/emotion at Zimbabwe's innovation fair."

The following is a part of the article:
"On the event’s last day, she exhibited her fashion sense. She smiled and expressed appreciation for being clothed in the country’s national dress, a black, long slit number complemented by chevron stripes in red, green and white."

I wasn't able to imagine what the dress looked like, so I googled and got the image, which was completely different from I had been imagining.

When I looked at the Youtube video, I thought her English was very fast for me, although there were too long pauses before she started to talk.
Her voice was a little bit difficult to hear because of echooing.
Other human guys spoke English with their accents.

By the way, when I looked at her, I remembered marionetts in "Thunderbirds Are Go!" produced in 1965.
Her face movement and Thunderbird's marionetts one seems somehow resembling a lot.
When I saw the old TV drama series 60 years ago, I was astonished how awesome it was!
There were no CGs. Yet, it was so accurate and realistic. The marionetts are as realistic as Sophia that was made 60 years later.

The launch scenes of Thunderbird 1 and 3 seemed extremely real.
Although it was made before Apollo 11 got to the moon in 1969.

これは、私が昨晩のRarejobオンライン英会話レッスンで選んだDaily News Articleのタイトルです。 私は英語のノンネイティブなので、時々ニュースのタイトルを勘違いしたり、誤解したりします。 「ソフィア」についてはよく知っていて、その名前がギリシャ語の「知識」に由来していることも知っています。これは「哲学（philosophy）」にも見られますよね（philo＝愛、sophy＝知識）。高校で学んだことです。 でも、「ソフィア」についてどんなによく知っていたとしても、それはあまり役に立たなかったということが分かりました。なぜなら、私はタイトルを次のように誤解していたからです： 「ソフィア、世界的に有名なロボットでAIのグローバルアイコン、が、ジンバブエのイノベーションフェアで感情を持つ/得る」

以下は記事の一部です： 「イベントの最終日、彼女はファッションセンスを披露しました。彼女は笑顔を見せ、国の伝統的な衣装を着せてもらったことに感謝の気持ちを表しました。その衣装は、黒い長いスリットのドレスで、赤、緑、白のシェブロンストライプがあしらわれていました。」

私はそのドレスがどんな感じなのか全く想像できなかったので、Googleで調べて画像を見ました。すると、私が想像していたものとは全く違うものが出てきました。

そのYouTube動画を見たとき、私は彼女の英語がとても速いと感じましたが、話し始める前に長すぎる間があったのも印象的でした。
彼女の声はエコーがかかりすぎていて、やや聞き取りにくかったです。
他の人間たちは、アクセントの強い英語をしゃべっていました。

ところで、彼女を見たとき、「サンダーバード」が1965年に制作された時のマリオネットを思い出しました。 彼女の顔の動きと、サンダーバードのマリオネットの動きが何となく似ていると感じました。 あらためて、60年前に作られたその古いテレビドラマシリーズを見てみると、それがとても素晴らしいものだと驚きました！
CGはない時代でしたが、それでも非常に精巧でリアルでした。あのマリオネットは、60年後に作られたソフィアと同じくらいリアルだったのです。

サンダーバード1号や3号の打ち上げシーンなどは、実際のロケット打ち上げとそっくりで、驚くほどリアルです。
アポロ11号が1969年に月面にいったよりも前に作られた作品なのにです。
