Doch wenn sie nachts im Schatten ist
But when he's in the shadows at night
Und Ihr der Schmerz die Brust zerfrisst
And the pain in his chest him consumes
Hört niemand, wie sie zu sich spricht
Nobody hears how he talks to himself
Von Angesicht zu Angesicht:
face to face:
"Der Mensch ist böse von Natur
"Humans are naturally bad
Der Mensch, er braucht die Kreatur
Humans need the creature
Er gab dem Tier den Namen 'Schwein'
They gave the animal the name 'pig'
Und glaubt dabei nur er sei rein"
And believe that he'd only be pure"
I tried to translate a German song (part 2). I'd like to know if I translated it well!
Und Iihr der Schmerz die Brust zerfrisst
And the pain in his chest him consumes him
And,meanwhile believeing that he'd only bonly they (themselves) are pure"
"er" is referring to the human(s) here
Feedback
I'd still use 'it' instead of 'he' for the creature in the English version, but I'm not sure if that's technically "wrong" and it has nothing to do with the meaning of the German lyrics anyway, so I left that the way it is
Gute Übersetzung! :)
