Some poems from my point of view

Actually it was a tough task for me .
By many reasons.
What to choose? Why ? There are so many poems- beatutiful, touching, pathetic.
I have chosen just 3 works in Russian I reread this year which I consider very valuable.
It is a case when a translation is so brilliant and bright that thousands of people remember it by heart .
I want to share my feelings with you today.

So here they are , my top for 2025

1. The beginning
I have no doubt here. Here is "The Divine Comedy". Of course so many translations of this famous masterpiece have been done to many languages .
Thank you Michael Lozinsky! We all know your work.

2. The challenge
"Tiger, Tiger, burning bright, in the forests of the night. "
Small in size, but so big in meaning.
There are many good translations in russian ( I know at least 5), but my choice is Kalinin's modern version

3.The New hope
Hm.. We still have some time before the end of the year yet.
so lets wait and see what the new year will bring us .
Stefan Wetwitsky from Poland is an author of this work but we all know the Alexey Plescheev's russian version
The grass is turning green,
The sun is shining bright,
A swallow Is flying to our home with so-long-waited spring.

1 Земную жизнь пройдя до половины,
Я очутился в сумрачном лесу,
Утратив правый путь во тьме долины.

4 Каков он был, о, как произнесу,
Тот дикий лес, дремучий и грозящий,
Чей давний ужас в памяти несу!

7 Так горек он, что смерть едва ль не слаще.
Но, благо в нем обретши навсегда,
Скажу про все, что видел в этой чаще.

Тигр, о тигр, ночной кошмар,
Затаенный в чаще жар!
Кто дерзнул тебе придать
Ужасающую стать?

Кто раздул в полночный час
Уголья бездумных глаз?
Кто, спокойствие храня,
Вынимал их из огня?

Rośnie trawka, ziółko
Zimne dni się mienią:
Ty, wierna jaskółko
Znow przed naszą sienią
Травка зеленеет,
Солнышко блестит,
Ласточка с весною
В сени к нам летит.

Actually it was a tough task for me .

ByFor many reasons.

Typically, this should be part of the previous sentence. However, sometimes it's okay to break up sentences for emphasis, so I won't say it's entirely wrong.

What to choose?

Why ?

There are so many poems- beatutiful, touching, pathetic.

Just double-checking that you're intending to use two positive words and one negative word? "Pathetic" is definitely negative.

I have chosen just 3 works in Russian

Your English is good. Watch our for spacing around punctuation marks. I didn't mark them wrong, but remember you don't put a space before a period.
