Which do you prefer, digital or analog watches?
It depends on the situation, I prefer analog watch because I can see at a glance what time it is. On the other hand, digital watches are useful for counting precise time like kitchen timer. However we use Smart phone to check time instead of hand watch these days.

I usually wear a digital watch, but I can't say I actually use it as a watch much. I mainly wear it for the fitness tracking :)

I'm not a professional teacher or anything, but some examples for "a" vs "the"
"a"
- Talking about a previously unmentioned item that is countable (countable basically means you can put a number to it, so you can say like "100 car"s but not "100 rains")
- talking about an item when which specific item is unimportant "I rode a bike here" - note this second type of "a" can be replaced by a more specific term when the specific item matters like "I rode _my_ bike" here.
"The"
- talking about a previously mentioned countable object ("I rode a bike here. The bike was a rental bike")
- Talking about object(s) in a descriptive sense "The Eiffel Tower is a famous building" "tower" is a generic noun but "The Eiffel Tower" is making it clear which tower by using the name as if it was an adjective.
- Describing a person by their role when the context makes it expected that that person would be there (e.g. if you're talking about a plane, you would say "the pilot" without previously introducing one, "the conductor" for an orchestra, etc)
Neither:
- groups in the abstract ("Restaurant staff are busy" is a statement about all restaurant staff everywhere, "the restaurant staff" is a statement about some previously mentioned or implied group of staff (e.g. if you're talking about your experiences in a restaurant)

I don't really wear watches except for when I want to dress up a bit. I prefer wearing a fancy analog watch in those cases. I feel like it matches my appearance a lot better and wearing one does make me feel a bit more confident for some reason.
