Snow and Hail

It’s late winter now, near the Chinese new year. Wind blows heavily and so as the hail.
I was expecting snow yesterday evening after listened to the broadcast of weather.
This difference inspires me to know the reason why sometimes it becomes snow and others become hail.
As snow, it grows up in clouds, when steams meet cold clouds, they condense into ice particles, and ice combines ice to condense hexagon snow.
The progress to generate hail is more complex. Hail is generally connected to convective clouds, when the small ices generate, they don’t drop off straightly, on the contrary, they rise up with the help of convective clouds and then drop down. This rise and drop process would circulate several times until they grow big enough to drop on the ground.
When knowing this circumstance, it seems like hail is more unusual, but I still love snow more. Because it is more beautiful and plastic, I can make snowman and have a snowball fight with my friends. But with hail, I only fill cold!
