Should we eat less rice ?

Today, I listened to a podcast about rice. Rice is a staple in many countries, especially in South Asia and North-South Asia. Roughly 56% of the population eat rice as a staple. Si, approximatively 4 billions people eat rice every week. But, rice s very thirsty. For 1 Kg of rice, we consumed between 3 and 5 thousand litters. It's a huge number! So, people created an association fighting against the high consume of water called the AWC (Alternate Wet Drying). It aims to consume less water because normally, it needs 25 cycles for farmers to flood their crops. But, with their invention which detect the level of water, it needs only 20 cycles. Thanks for reading !

North-South isn't a direction (they are two opposites). We can just simplify to Asia here

Roughly 56% of the population eat rice as a staple.

Sio, approximatively 4 billions people eat rice every week.

But, rice s vrequires a lot of watery thirstyo grow.

"Thirsty" is reserved for animals (like hungry). Using the word for a plant would be considered a stylistic choice, like you are purposely humanizing the plant

For every 1 Kkg of rice, we consumed between 3 and 5 thousand litters are consumed.

A bit more natural

Noun = consumption

It aims to consume less water because normally, it needs 25 cyclesgrow rice using less water. Normally, 25 cycles are needed for farmers to flood their crops.,

Bbut, with their invention whichof the AWC can detect the level of water, it needsrequiring only 20 cycles.

I feel the logic flows better with this small edit

As I was correcting your journal, I was eating rice 😅.

Rice is easy to prepare, and there are various types of rice, such as coconut rice, fried rice, and jollof rice.

When I wrote "si", it was a mistake, I wanted to write "so". And "25 cycles" is the number of cycle requires to flood the rice but I don't remember exactly what were the cycles.
