So you're saying they would be used, say, doing woodcutting or carpentry, something like that? Or the choice of words i used is odd?

Okay, I realized what is disturbing me. You didn't clarify in the object that must be tell. What are you cutting? apple, orange or wood? In the first thought when I read, I think the thing something eatable.

Ben Halil'den daha az odun kesiyorum.
Ben Halil'den daha az elma kesiyorum.
Also you can dropp "şimdi". Well, your mother keep telling what you need to do, and you say finally, "Şimdi yapıyorum." Or you are leaving right now and you can say "Şimdi gidiyorum."

In the Single sentences, It should be clarified the object unlike Paragraphes or conversation.
If we know the context or you pointed the object earlier, next time you can droop it or clarify with "zamir".
