He'll hail a taxi when his call is over.
The new player signed the contract that was drawn up by his manager.
He's shrewder than he first appears.
I'm practicing colloquial English and focus on idioms. I'm using a lot of British English.
Sentences 037: Hail A Taxi, The Contract, Shrewder
He'll hail a taxi when his call is over.
The use of 'when' is absolutely correct here, however you might want to try using 'once' instead. 'Once' places more emphasis on the sequence of events and the first action being over before the second action begins. He will hail a taxi directly after the call is over..... 'He'll hail a taxi once his call is over.'
The new player signed the contract that was drawn up by his manager.
He's shrewder than he first appears.

Feedback
All looks good.
Also, nothing here is specific to British English.
