In the place where I live in summer, it's very hot. The temperature can reach anywhere from 35 to 40 degrees Celsius. So I have been looking for a place to spend the summer for years.
It's of course not very difficult to find a place where it's really cool in summer, but those places have drawbacks.
The northern part of China is cool in summer, but it is a little far from my hometown. I live in the central part of China. The distance between the two places exceeds one thousand kilometers.
Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces are in high - altitude areas. Cities in these two provinces usually have a high altitude, so the weather there in summer is cool. But it is said that the air in the high - altitude areas contains less oxygen, which is not good for people's health. In addition, the temperature difference between day and night is so big that it also does harm to people's health.
Another place is around the Bohai Sea. The coastal areas of the Bohai Sea are considered good places for spending the summer, but those places are still far from my home as the nearest city in that area is still more than 800 kilometers from my home.
The nearest mountain to me is the Dabie Mountain, only more than 200 kilometers from my home. Inside it, there are several places where it's cool in summer due to the high altitude. The distance can satisfy me, but I am still afraid of the high altitude.
I am still hesitating where I should buy an apartment to spend the summer. I will go and see before I finally get one.

From what I read just now, 天柱山, the highest peak in the Dabie Mountains, is only 1770 m. above sea level. This elevation isn’t high enough to cause problems for most people, unless they have certain underlying health conditions. And any town in the Dabie Mountains is likely to be significantly lower than 天柱山, so there’s probably nothing to worry about. Maybe you could go stay there for a few weeks to see how you like it before you buy a place.
