Do the Real Thing - Scott H. Young

Recently I read article "Do the real thing". It's really interesting and useful. From it Iearned 3 rules:
1) Nothing is often better than something
2) The hard way is the easy way
3) If you’re not sure what the real thing is, just ask

Before read this article, I rethought some things. I started look to situation differently. I got, that a lot of things, what I did, is fake.

Each verb needs a subject. You were the one who read the article, so I added "I" as the subject, thus making it "I read..." "Rethought" is technically correct, but it sounds really awkward, and I barely hear it. Instead, you can say "I thought it over," "I thought about it in depth", or "I thought about it more"

Before I read this article, I rethought some things. over. Before I read this article, I thought some things over.

It would make more sense if it went: "After I read this article, I began to think more carefully about some things/ to think stuff over"

I started look to situation differently.
