Okupa
Hieraŭa mi forgesis skribi. Mi estis okupa. Mi donis ses malnovajn librojn kaj fotis multjn fotojn. Ankaŭ mi skribis multajn aferojn. Mi volas legi, sed mi estas tro okupa. Mi perdis mian pruntokaton kaj mi bezonas novan unun.
Busy
Yesterday I forgot to write. I was busy. I donated six old books and I took many pictures. Also I wrote many things. I want to read, but I am too busy. I lost my library card and I need a new one.

Okup- is a verb radical, and as such, it will take -ata or -ota or -ita depending on the time period...
Okupita = was busy
Okupata = am busy
Okupota = will be busy

For Yesterday as a time, no -a is yesterday. You would use the -a when it describes another word (yesterday's news, can be expressed with an -a)

In this kind of sentence, "one" is functioning as some kind of dummy placeholder pronoun in English. Simply not repeating the noun is a common way to express this in Esperanto.
