Running in the Rain

Hi,
This is Hot Dog, speaking on LangCorrect.
How are you doing?

It was a gloomy and rainy Sunday, my day off yesterday, so I was lazy waking up late.
However, after drinking a cup of coffee, my mind changed from lazy to crazy (or from depressed to manic), and started running in the rain.
It was very hard to run in the rain because I had to avoid stepping on puddles (but it turned out in vain, making my shoes completely wet), and the one-coin raincoat was very noisy to my ears and uncomfortable. I ran 5.26 kilometers in 1:02:26 and quit. Yesterday I chose a flat course and aimed to run SLD (not the illegal drug but "Slow Long Distance"). But it turned out to be VSSD (Very Slow Short Distance). The average pace was 11:52/km. It was a slower pace than walking. Lol

Since I got a 500 yen discount coupon for Sports Depo at the trail run race one week ago, as a prize for participation, I went to the sports shop in the afternoon and purchased a 1,999 yen raincoat for runners.
Then I ran again in the evening another 6.07 kilometers in 50:36, which was 8:21/km on average. The raincoat worked!
I went to a coin laundry to wash and dry my shoes at night.

昨日は平地をSLDとして走ることを予定していたのだが、VSSD(とても短い距離を無茶苦茶遅いスピードで走る)になってしまった。

I enjoy to run too, but to do so in the *rain* requires a certain amount of carefree attitude that I could only wish to have. Hope your shoes are okay, though

https://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q1411468164
"Sports Depo" is the name of a sports shop.
"DEPO" is a French word that means "deposit," "storage," and "warehouse."
It is also a mountain climbing term, and can also mean leaving some or all of your luggage in the middle of a mountain trail (or its location). If you leave everything behind (which is rare), some people call it a "all depot."

Thank you.
>Hope your shoes are okay, though
Thank you for your concern.
The shoes might have become shrunken and smaller. But I was very fortunate that my shoes didn't change their size.

I tried to restructure your sentence without changing your word choices too much.

"Started running" isn't incorrect, but it kinda sounds like you had your coffee and immediately ran outside without changing clothes or anything. ^^;

I've never heard the expression one-coin before. I like it, but just in case, you can just say "cheap" of course.

>The average pace was 11:52 min/km.
>you always forget the time units: hours, min(utes) :-)
Thanks for your advice.
However, I think it's very difficult to write the time units.
For example,
I ran a full marathon in 5:14:42 means "in 5 hours 14 minutes 42 seconds."
11:52/km means that "my pace was 11 minutes 52 seconds per kilometer.

The problem is that "time" system adopts sexagesimal scale.
11 minutes and 52 seconds = 11+ 52/60 = 11.86667 (written in decimal number)
Therefore, if I wrote "11.87 min/km," I think it would be correct, but I still don't know whether"11:52 min/km."

What do you think? Thanks!

It needs a unit because 11:xx/km is meaningless. :-)

Just go with 11:52 min/km.
In fact, that's the way we write seconds. For example, the playing time of a track on my CD is 3:48 (=3 minutes, 48 seconds)
