Road Rage

I was driving on the freeway when I noticed an old Toyota swerving within its lane right in front of me. At first, I thought the driver might be sleepy or distracted. Not wanting to risk getting involved in an accident, I changed lanes to get a better look at what was going on.

It turned out the driver was anything but drowsy—he was aggressively tailgating the car ahead. The Toyota weaved left and right within its lane, slowing down and then suddenly speeding up. It was clear the driver was annoyed with the slower car in front. Unfortunately, another vehicle in the slow lane was traveling at a similar pace, blocking the frustrated driver from passing. After a while, the driver ahead finally realized she was holding up traffic and moved over to the slow lane. With a roar of the engine, the frustrated driver sped off.

I’m completely against this kind of reckless and potentially dangerous driving, but at the same time, I don’t understand people who think it’s acceptable to stay in the fast lane at or just below the speed limit. A little consideration for others could go a long way in reducing the risk of accidents.
