Repentance

I received an explanatory text on Buddhist scriptures from my wife's uncle. Its essence is about confessing past sins and seeking forgiveness, and I find that it applies to me in every respect. I would like to translate this text into English over several times.

"I confess my sins. From a small age, when I understood nothing, I have unknowingly committed many karmic offenses. Sins committed by the body, sins committed by the mouth, sins committed by the mind. Even though I commit them all, I deceive myself into thinking I have not, and so I go on to commit even more sins."
