Reading Habits

Have people lost their reading habits within the past ten years? As far as I remember, over one third of passengers used to read books while their commutes fifteen years ago. At that time, I was also obsessed with science books and put a lot of time into reading books. However, we find ourselves wasting our time fiddling with smartphones lately.
A large number of bookstores has been disappeared due to the lack of demands and the emergence of online shopping. Our physical bookstore experiences are at stake now. I found myself being likely to choose practical books not based on my preference, but on someone's review. Online bookstores visualize how the book is interesting or useful for our daily life. We learnt to avoid killing time by boring books and might lose authentic book experiences instead.

Online bookstores visualize how the book is interesting or useful for our daily life.

We couldn't seen someone else's review until online bookstore became popular. At that time, we had to select the books depending on my own intuition.
