It quickly ran away.

It quickly ranslithered away. It quickly slithered away.

Snakes typically "slither" in English, as running implies legs. Also, when snakes speak/make sound, they "hiss". When they put their body in a spiral shape, they "coil" and "uncoil". When they are raising their heads, they are "rearing back" (to strike). They can also "constrict" (squeeze) their prey, if they are a boa constrictor or similar species. And sometimes roads that are particularly winding/have a lot of turns are described as "snaking through" the countryside/mountains. There are lots of words just for snakes :)

In the Garden of Eden, the serpent was regarded as Satan.
