Beijing is the capital of China, also one of four first-tier cities in China.
The transport system in Beijing is very convenient. Subways and public bikes are everywhere. Food there, I think, is also acceptable-expensive ones and cheap ones are all offered. But the accommodation fee is very expensive. For example, if a standard room in my home city costs 100 CNY, then it would be six times more expensive in Beijing.
Beidaihe is a very famous beach on the BoHai Sea, also a county-level district governed by the prefecture-level city Qinhuangdao.
Beidaihe only has public buses and taxis. There are only a few public bus lines and the bus stations are separated by long distances. Taking a taxi is expensive. There indeed is a brand of public bike, but the minimum price for a ride is 8.8 CNY. In addition, the condition of the bike is too bad to ride. I do see a woman renting e-bikes, but the price is 30CNY per hour. Obviously, the prices of the public bike and the rental e-bike are way higher than the average price in other big cities.
Xingcheng is a county-level city governed by the prefecture-level city Huludao. It only has public buses and taxis. As a “city”, how can it not have public bikes?
Tianjin is the last city on my trip. It is a municipality directly under the central government. I think it has the best balance of the basic daily needs. Transportation, accommodation, food type and price are all fair deals.
If I had to choose one of them to live in, I would definitely choose Tianjin.

In order for most Americans to understand this, you would need to explain what “county-level district” and “prefecture-level city” mean and why this information is significant, as we don’t have these concepts in the US.
In China, the government has five different levels. The top government is the people's Central Government, the second is the Provincial People's government, the third is the Prefecture-level people's government, the fourth is the County-level people's government and the fifth is the Township-level people's government. A county-level city or a county-level district has the same administrative level as a county. They simply have different names. When I introduce a city with its administrative level, it is easy for people to know the city's scale.
I believe that in the United States, there are also different administrative levels. As far as I know, the United States has a different political system than China. It is a federal government consisting of 50 states and 1 special region. Under the state, it is the county, and it seems like the county is at the lowest administrative level. Does the United States only have three administrative levels? The federal government, the state government and the county government?

There may be other levels, depending on which state you’re talking about, and which location in that state. But “administrative level” doesn’t even mean the same thing here as it does in China, because we don’t have a centralized government. Much governmental authority is held at the lower levels (the local levels), and the local governments decide how to organize themselves. For example, although 48 of the 50 states have counties, the other 2 do not (Louisiana has parishes and Alaska has boroughs). And even among the 50 states that do have counties, how those are organized and which things are controlled at which level can vary from state to state, and even from county to county within a single state.
Even terms like “city” mean different things depending on the context, and the fact that something is officially called a city doesn’t tell me anything about its size: there are cities with populations smaller than 3,000, and others with populations in the millions.
