Psychological fact

I randomly choose words, expressions, phrasal verbs etc. from my flash cards and my task is to incorporate them into meaningful sentence(s) or a short story.

Random words; TO GET THE HANG OF SOMETHING, DUBIOUS

Sometimes anger is better than pity because an angry person tends to get the hang of something even if it is extremely difficult and challenging, rather than someone who willows in self-pity. It might seem dubious, but it actually works.

Corrections

ItThis might seem dubious, but it's actually workstrue.

Sometimes feeling anger is better than pityfeeling pitiful because an angry person tends to get the hang of something even if it is extremely difficult and challenging, rather than someone who wiallows in self-pity.

I think you mean that "feeling (my own) angry is better than feeling pitiful" -- however, the way you wrote this, I initially thought you meant "feeling (someones else's) anger is better than feeling (their) pity."

Feedback

You nailed the words you were looking to use, nice!

Thanks.
Initially I meant an ANGER and PITY as emotions in general.
Your corrections makes my short story more personal.
