Vanilla Ice Cream
Today was a bit warm, so I wanted to have some ice cream.
I bought a vanilla ice cream at the supermarket and I ate it.
I felt cold after I finished eating it.
今日は少し暖かかったので、アイスクリームが食べたくなりました。
スーパーでバニラアイスを買って食べました。
食べ終わったら体が冷えました。

Yes! It is similar to "a cup of coffee" and "a glass of water". But you will still hear people say, "I'll have a coffee." because it is understood how the coffee is going to be served.
