The following is a comment to a friend who is struggling to pronounce the Japanese word for "jyussatsu” which means “ten books” in English.
Could you please check and see if it sounds natural to you?

You are still stretching out the "jyu" part, so why not make it a choking sound like when you pronounce "cook" or "foot"?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Can you describe something different?

There is no word in English which describes the sound. We would say "you pronounce it oo as in cook or foot".
