Discussing economy requires us to be imaginative. Now we, Japanese, can live without inconvenience except trivial discontent we have. However, there are a lot of people suffering from a desperate shortage of food around the world ,and that means our standard of living is exceptional. Despite that, we tend to ignore the fact and pursue our own happiness selfishly.
経済のことを論ずるときには、かなり想像力が必要とされる。私たち日本人はいま、いくつかの不満はあるにしても、基本的には非常に快適な暮らしを享受している。
しかし、世界の中では、いまだ多くの人々が食糧不足に苦しんでいる。それを考えると、私たちの生活水準は例外的なのである。ところがそれにもかかわらず私たちは、その事実に目を向けず、自分の幸福のみを追い求めがちである。
