About My English Writing
I signed up in the platform on May 26th. I have written 25 entries. Because of my poor lexis, I always use the simple words. I can read a few news online in English. When I encouter new words, I can guess the meaning. But when I am writing, I can't remember any related words which are more proper to beautify the sentence. Though I think I have learnt a lot of words recently. And, I always confuse about the tenses, especially the present tense. For example, I encoutered a rice field yeesterday when I went to ride a bike. I wrote down the trip after the ride. I think the field is beautiful, but there is a member corret "is" for "was". I am so confused.
I will keep writing. As the saying goes: Practice makes perfect.

I am still confused, what I think is that the field is always beautiful, whether I was there or not, it is beautiful. So I use present tense.

The field is always beautiful, yes. But you are writing about your own observations reflecting BACK on the experience, it’s a bit subtle. As a stand-alone sentence it is 100% fine to say “I think the field is beautiful.” But if you wish to say “I wrote about the field (past tense), then it is best to mirror that tense and say “because I thought the field was beautiful”

I saw a sentence in the test of grade 6, which is "Lily went to a shop yesterday. There are many goods in the shop." So, is that right?
