Online English conversation
I had a online English conversation today for the first time. I was a little nervous before the class started, but the teacher was pleasant and complimented me on my English, so I really enjoyed it. However, she told me I have a problem with the pronunciation of the "r" and "l", so I'm gonna work to improve the pronunciations. Then, while I talked with her, I felt the fruits of my journal writing. I think I enjoy studying English the most when I can feel my own growth. I'll continue to do my best.

You use "an" when the next word starts with a vowel sound (a, e, i, o, u). You use "a" when the next word starts with a consonant sound (any letter that is not a vowel).

I changed "the" into "my" because they are not just pronunciations, but they are how you pronounce these sounds. So they become yours/your possession.
You can also say: "So I'm gonna work on how I pronounce these sounds."
Then, wWhile I talked with her, I felt the fruits of my journal writing.
You can also say: "When I talked to her..."
