Of Naps and Nothingness

Today offered no inspiration for writing. While my wife and daughter went out for her EIKEN interview and my son buried himself in books at the library, I stayed home with the quiet companionship of our dog. A long nap filled the afternoon. Though little of consequence occurred, perhaps it was such rest that I truly needed.

今日は書くようなことがありませんでした。妻と娘が英検の面接試験を受けに出かけ、息子が図書館で読書に没頭している間、私は家で静かに愛犬と過ごしました。午後は長く昼寝しました。特に目立った出来事はありませんでしたが、もしかしたら、本当に必要なのはそのような休息だったのかもしれません。
