This one in the picture is a gaiwan, consisting of a bowl and a lid.

Sometimes a "gaiwan" is translated as a "Chinese lidded bowl."

I use it to brew the tea leaves firstALSO POSSIBLE: I use it to add hot water to tea leaves before pouring new tea.

I have a sharing pitcher to distribute the brewed tea among othe participants,rs, who are sometimes my friends, and sometimes my family, and sometimes just myself.

It's called gongdaobei in Chinese.

Participants sounds very stiff and awkward here, but at this moment in time I can't think of any other replacements that wouldn't erase the original thing it was you wanted to say.

You can use "participants" if it's a full-blown tea ceremony.
