My Morning

Today I got up at around 6:30 a.m.When I woke up,I ate a small piece of pie and drank tea.After that I meditated for about 10 minutes,then did exercises for half an hour.I actually don't like eating meat so much.Still,I sometimes eat not fried chicken.Also, I'm a morning person and I like getting up early rather than sleeping for 2-3 more hours.

Because if you say, "Yet I like getting up early" or "But I like getting up early" (rather than sleeping in), it's a contrast. Meaning you're not a morning person. If you're a morning person the correct sentence would be:

Yet can mean "up until the present moment" as an adverb. As a conjunction it is always a contrast, and in your sentence it was used as a conjunction.
