My Life in SZ (15) - How to Work
Each of us in turn greeted the tourists at the entrance. When they arrived at the exhibition center, the person who is on duty turned on the lights, and the rest staff members would prepare inside. We generally only host two to four travel groups a day. If we confirmed that no more tourists would come on that day, we would be dismissed, so I often took a rest in the afternoon. Sometimes, I went to a quiet grassland in a park nearby to take a nap under trees if the sun shined warm. Because I didn't worry about anything, so I was always in deep sleep. I miss the scene much now.
We were divided into several working groups which comprised two or three people. If I persuade a guest to buy a craft, my partner will quickly prepare the package for it. The package normally was the same important as the item itself, if we couldn't find the specific package for it, the deal would immediately be canceled by the customer in most cases. That's because the product was not necessary for them, they bought it impulsively.
I did three important things that amazed my boss and colleagues.
First one, I had a good knowledge of Chinese history, I merged the crafts or porcelain ware into our Chinese culture quite well and even told some interesting stories about it. I read a specific professional book that help me to understand porcelain ware, I even thought the item I was going to sell was the same as the one in the book. Of course, they were totally different. The one in the book was precious and priceless, however, the other one in my hand was actually worthless.
