Recently I and my flatmates have been agreeing to buy a new kitchen.
Today I have visited one. It looked pretty nice but it's also pretty old. The Furniture looks like it has been used for about 10 years already and the countertop has big black stains all over its surface.
While It sounds very negative, there are also some upsides, (or advantages, which fits in better?) For instance, we can finally switch our oven to a new one. Our old one is pretty disgusting because it works only when you know its flaws and failures. To be more specific you got to hold the gas when you ignite it for about 7 seconds. Also, the hatch which covers the front of the oven is secured by a lashing strap. While it's amusing for our guests and family because no one has ever seen such a piece of art outside of a museum, it is also very frustrating to use it on a daily basis. But to be honest I will be living in constant fear when I am thinking about getting this stove down to street level due to its heavy weight. We're all students and don't like to spend money on things which are working, but I think in this case it's justified when replacing it.
Another advantage of a new Kitchen would be that we're able to get a new sink. Our old one looks like it's straight from the 50s out of Siberias's remotest place.
Even this is an understatement.
However, we would have to cut it into 2 pieces because it's pretty long with 4,4 meters. For the matter of transporting, I will have to ask a friend of mine who has a long transporter.
Well, this won't concern me over the next 2 days because I will be visiting my girlfriend who is living in Leipzig. The distance is okay either, as it's only 170 km away. I will drive in a car and approximately need an hour.
I hope I will meet some friends in Leipzig because many of them moved there due to its economic boom in recent years.
It's pretty easy to make a good living there at least for eastern circumstances.
Thank you for correcting, I hope you are having a fantastic day! :)
My hot takes on our K(new) kitchen :)
Normally you wouldn't capitalise Kitchen but as it's a title it can sometimes be done like that - e.g The Lord of the Rings.
Recently I and my flatmates have been agreeingagreed/decided to buy a new kitchen.
decided sounds a bit better than agreed.
Today I have visited one.
'Today, I checked one out.'
'I had a look at one today.'
You wouldn't really say you visited one.
It looked pretty nice but it's also pretty old.
It's a small thing but try and avoid using the same adjective twice - 'pretty'.
'It looked quite nice but it's also pretty old'.
The Ffurniture looks like it has been used for about 10 years already and the countertop has big black stains all over it's surface.
While It sounds verythis may sound negative, there are also some upsides, (or advantages, which fits in better?) For instance, we can finally switch our oven to a new one.
I'd just write, 'We can finally get a new oven'
Also, 'It also has it's upsides'. works better!
Our old one is pretty disgusting because it works only when you knowand it only works when you know how to get around it's flaws and failures.
You wouldn't write 'because' as the fact you have to know how to use it doesn't make it disgusting/dirty.
To be more specific, you have got to hold down the gas when you ignite itknob for about 7 seconds when you ignite it.
While it's amusing for our guests and family, because no one has ever seen such a piece of art outside of a museum, it is also very frustrating to use it on a daily basis.
Extra information goes in between two commas. It's called 'Parenthesis'. You know you've got it right if the sentence works without the middle phrase -- , because no one has ever seen such a piece of art outside of a museum, --
But tTo be honest, I will be living in constant fear when I am thinking about getting this stove down to street level due to its heavy weight.
Don't start a sentence with 'but'. It just sounds wrong! You can start a sentence with 'but' in casual conversation.
This sentence doesn't quite work 'will be' is future tense and 'I am thinking' is not - You would phrase it like ; To be honest, I fear the prospect of having to move this stove down the street due to it's heavy weight.
We're all students and therefore don't like to spend money on things which arethat still working, but I think in this case it'swe are justified whein replacing it.
Another advantage of a new Kkitchen would be that we're able to getgetting a new sink.
Our old one looks like it's straight fromout of the 50s out of Siberias's remotest place, from the depths of the Siberian tundra.
Haha
EHowever, even this is an understatement.
Slightly strange starting a sentence with 'Even this', I don't think it can really work.
However, wWe would have to cut it into 2 pieces becauseas it's pretty long with, measuring 4,.4 meters.
Since I added however in the sentence before, you would take it out here to avoid saying it twice in succession. No comma for decimal numbers, full stop instead!
For the matter of transporting, I wiAs for transportation, I'll have to ask a friend of mine who has a long transportervan.
If your friend has a white van you can call them a 'White van man', but this is insulting and colloquial.
I found this online: "White van man" is a stereotype used in the United Kingdom for a smaller-sized commercial van driver, typically perceived as a selfish, inconsiderate driver who is mostly petit bourgeois and often aggressive.
Well, this won't concern me oveI don't have to worry about it for the next 2 days becauseas I will be visiting my girlfriend (who is livinglives) in Leipzig.
You can probably just take 'who lives' out.
The distance is okay eithern't a problem, as it's only 170 km away.
I will drive in a car and approximately need an hout's about an hours drive by car.
I hope I willto meet some friends in Leipzig because, many of them moved there due to it's economic boom in recent years.
I'm planning to meet some friends in Leipzig,
It's pretty easy to make a good living there, at least for eastern circumstances.
Don't know what you mean by 'eastern circumstances'.
at least for East Germany.
?
Thank you for correcting (me), I hope you are having a fantastic day!

Well done! Starting to see some development with your sentence structures! Keep it up :) 'Parenthesis' is a good thing to know how to get right! If the sentence works without the middle section then you are doing it right.

Not sure what 'long transporter' means, maybe "van" or "truck"?
