My name is Daniel I am 41 years old and I live in Americana, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil with my parents, I know that this may seem strange, but it is that with our economic crisis, I did not get a replacement in the job market.
Since then I have been doing small jobs and I am also a freelance translator, but it is not every day that I get work and that is a little frustrating.
I am a student of logistics and I will graduate in the second semester of next year.
Since March with the advancement of Coronavirus, I started taking online courses on the Coursera platform, there I took two courses in cybersecurity by IBM.
I hope that with these courses I have one more chance of getting a job.
A passion of mine since I was a teenager is learning languages.
I started to learn my first English words with comics that a friend brought from his vacation in the United States.
I've always been a fan of Marvel comics.
I once read a story that Gene Simmons from Kiss learned English through the English comics that his mother bought for him.
At the same time I started to liste rock music and started to translate the lyrics of the songs with a dictionary, that was great fun for me, and I was one of the best students in the English class at school.
The first book I read in English was Carrie by Stephen King, I had a little difficulty understanding certain words and expressions because I realized that it was a more complex book for my level of English.
Watching the movie was easier than reading the book.
The biggest problem I perceive in teaching English in Brazil is that public schools never received attention from the government, both in terms of structure and also never paid a decent salary for teachers.
If you live in Brazil and want to learn English, forget about public schools, invest in private lessons or make an exchange.
I hope that one day this situation will improve, but I find it very difficult, because the government here is not concerned with the poor, only with big businessmen and banks.

The biggest problem I perceive in teaching English in Brazil is that public schools have never received attention from the government, both in terms of structure and also have never paid a decent salary for teachers.
I would use "have never + verb" to show that it started in the past and continues up to today, which is one of the major functions of the present perfect verb form

Interesting that you are in Brazil. Last year I received an email from a long-time English teacher in Brazil (non-native speaker of English) who was using my American English pronunciation website. He wanted to start a pronunciation class in his private school but didn't know how to start. Since I'm retired and am not teaching American English pronunciation any more, I helped him organize the class, gave him my pronunciation materials, videos, to download.
Just the other day, he emailed me. His class has started and it's going well.
Time to get back to my language studies. :--)

"did not get" makes it sound more like a choice. Because you are talking about economic crisis I think "could not get" fits better.

Good job! I think you can work on shortening your sentences.

I am not entirely sure what you are trying to say here. Did you not get a job due to the crisis? Or did you not get a new job during the crisis since not a lot of jobs are available?
Since then I have been doing small jobs and I am also a freelance translator, but it is notI do not get work every day that I get work and that is a little frustrating.
I am a student of logistics student and I will graduate in the second semesterhalf of next year.
Normally the second semester is also in the second half of the year. Maybe this is just the case in my country though.
If you do not want to be that specific, you can also just use "next year".

I do understand the sentence but it doesn't really fit that well. You say "both in terms of". This usually means that both statements that follow should focus on the public schools. Your second statement , however, focuses on the teacher's salary.
If you live in Brazil and want to learn English, forget about public schools, invest in private lessons or make an exchange.
