Yesterday, I attended the English cafe meet up nearby town, which was my second time.
Yesterday's topic was "The event that changed your life"
My friend Keiko talked about a very surprising story.
Keiko is a huge fan of the group Red Hot Chili Pepper.
She said she wanted to go to America for their concert a long time ago.(Maybe over 10 years ago)
And she started going to an English school because she wanted to understand their English.
However, her husband didn't want her to go to the English school and America.
They argued about it for a long time and they ended up getting divorced.
She is still a fan of the musician and she is still single.
She said that it was good for her to get divorced.
Listening to her story, everybody was surprised, but laughed out loud.

If you say "the English cafe meet up" in your introduction sentence, it means that you attended a specific English cafe meet up that's known to both you and your readers. But we readers don't know about it yet. So I feel like it's more natural to say "an English cafe."
