Yesterday I held an English lesson for mythe local peoples.

This sounds more natural in the US.

To gather participants, I posted the announcement in thea public relations magazine.

Unfortunately, only two people took part in thatcame.

They are from a Japanese teaching class which is held twice a month that I joinattend almost everyall the time.

The lesson went smoothly; however, but they didn't look satisfied.

The text was written in English with a Japanese translation for some words at the end.

While I told themread the Japanese translation, they were listening to out loud, they heard and understood me, which perhaps made them bored.

After the lesson, I found out they were beginners in English, who did not knowing how to pronounce each word, much less having any familiarity with English grammar, which was my miscalculation.

Although I haven't decided when to teach the next lesson comes in, I need to reexamine how to proceed with the lessons.

omit teaching. You can say Japanese language class or you can say Japanese class. in English when's someone says Japanese class is understood that in that class you are learning the language. So you don't have to specify what type of Japanese class it is unless you want to, and if you do, you would do that by saying Japanese language class.

omit the last sentence. Also don't say miscalculation in a sentence unless you actually miscalculated something. Like " I miscalculated the numbers in the math homework."

I used bimonthly here, but I think it's important to note that bimonthly means happening twice a month OR happening every two months. So the usage might be a little confusing

What they wanted seemed to be different from what I offered.

Alternative: They seemed like they wanted something different from what I offered.

While I toldwas telling them the Japanese translation, they were listening to me, which perhaps made them bored.

Although I haven't decided whenat the next lesson comes inwill be, I need to reexamineconsider how to proceed with the lessons.

I think "reconsider" is a more suitable word because "reconsider" has the implication that you're changing your mind about something.

You could also say, 'a miscalculation/error on my part'
