My city.
The name of my city is Yoskar-Ola. This is the capital of the Mari-El republic. It's not near Kazan(150km) and not so far from Moscow(700km). The name of my city can be translated from a local language like Red Town. I am from Yoshkar-Ola originally. We have many lakes, rivers, and forests around our town. The population is about 275 000. We have 3 main nationalities: Russian, Mari, Tatars. Some of then can speak in the local language. We have a river in the city - Malaya Koksaga. We have a beautiful bank along this river. The city is very ecological clean because we haven't any big chemical plants. The roads are not so good and we have a lot of holes on the surface. We have some students from India in our town, maybe around 200 people. Five years ago or more we hadn't students from another country. Life in our town is not so expensive. You can rent a room 180$/month. The cost of other things and services approximately the same as other cites of Russia. I travel to Russia a lot and our town is very comfortable for a silent life.

This is a very charming way of describing where it is, if a little confusing. It seems contradictory, but it also feels like you are playing with our ideas about relative distance.

So, for British English I believe "We haven't any plants" is fine! For American English (that's me) we add "do" as a conjugated 1st verb when "have" is not being used with a 2nd verb (we haven't eaten) AND needs to be negated.

I rewrote this sentence. Saying 'not close' instead of 'not near' in this scenario sounds smoother, and I think you meant to say Moscow was farther, so I said 'even further from'.

You need to have this extra verb 'do'. (the 'do' in both sentences are now 'don't' for present and 'didn't' for past)
I would try to explain it, but I think I would probably just confuse you!! Maybe watch a video on Youtube to explain?
