Minimalism

Minimalism is something that I've been drawn to for months now. I like the idea of living with less. However, I can't get rid of things because I live with my family and I will continue to do so for several years while I study and get I job. Fortunately, I can still choose what to do with my belongings, but it's still hard.

I think the most problematic area is my closet. I have lots of clothes. Most of them I don't even like. Half of it once belonged to my sister. I don't really like buying clothes, so much of what I have has been gifted to me. I don't like it when someone gives me clothes, specially if I can't go to the store and change it for something that I like better. I'm very picky when buying and I don't like having things I don't like and I know I will never wear.

When I declutter my closet and decide to donate a part of my clothes, my family thinks I'll be left with no clothes and that we'll need to go shopping. I would really like to start over with my closet and only buy items that I'll definitely wear, but that's not possible.

Minimalism

Minimalism is something that I've been drawn to for months now.

I like the idea of living with less.

However, I can't get rid of things because I live with my family, and I will continue to do so for several more years while I study and get Ia job.

Another way to phrase the last part would be, “I will continue to do so until I finish studying and get a job”.

Fortunately, I can still choose what to do with my belongings, but it's still hard.

I think the most problematic area is my closet.

Most of them I don't even like.

Half of ithem once belonged to my sister.

I don't really like buying clothes, so much of what I have has been gifted to me.

I don't like it when someone gives me clothes, especially if I can't go to the store and change ithem in for something else that I like better.

“ ‘specially” is a shortened form of “especially” used in speech in some English dialects, although it’s not grammatically correct in writing.

I'm very picky when buying things, and I don't like having things that I don't like and I know I will never wear.

“I will” is often written/said as “I’ll”.
Instead of saying “buying things”, you could also just say “shopping”.

When I declutter my closet and decide to donate a partselection of my clothes, my family thinks I'll be left with no clotheswill think that I don’t have any left and that we'll need to go shopping.

In US English, we'd say "especially" in this context. I'm not sure about other versions of English.

The "I" in brackets is optional.
