After we (my classmates and teachers) arrived in my home county town, we checked in at a private hotel. It was raining. The next day we were going to attend the middle school graduation exam. The exam was going to last for three days.
We needed to test nine subjects, which were Chinese, maths, English, politics, history, geography, physics, chemistry and biology.
These subjects counted different scores. Chinese and mathematics each counted 100 scores, English counted 50 scores, politics, history and geography together counted 100 scores, so did physics, chemistry and biology. The maximum score for the nine subjects in total was 450.
When we did the test papers, we were monitored by three invigilators. One was in the front of the classroom, another was in the rear of the classroom and the third one was in the middle of the classroom.
We didn't dare to plagiarize. The outcome of it was that we would be stopped from continuing to take the exam and our scores for this exam would be zero.
I had a question on my Chinese test paper that I didn't know. The question asked me to write down a poet's name for a famous Chinese poem. I knew that poet’s name, which was right on the tip of my tongue at the moment, but I just couldn't say it out.
I tried hard to figure it out. Accidentally, I saw the poet’s name on the test paper of the student who sat in front of me from the space between his right elbow and his body.
This question only counted for one score. It was also the only score in this examination that I got not by myself.
About one month later, the exam scores were released. I was the number one student with 360 scores among about 200 graduates in my school.
Since I performed very well in the exam, I won the opportunity to work for the government. That was why I am a government employee now.

Good Job on the test! In New York, we have to take three test every year from 3rd - 8th grade in the subjects English, Math, and Science. Each test is about 3 hours long but nothing happens if you fail them lol. Though, you are more likely to go to a good school if you do well.
