I had the economics test. I studied a lot for the test but I always forget one thing. This test, I made an awful mistake. I remembered the definition of the vocabulary but I forgot the name of the vocabulary.

Economicsのテストをした。勉強を沢山したのにいつもなにか1つを忘れる。今回のミスはひどかった。意味は覚えていたのにその単語の名前を忘れた。

"its X" = "it の X" (the possessive form of "it"), while "it's" = "it is". Native English speakers will sometimes mix these up too. そして、この文には、"I remembered the definition of a word but I forgot the word itself" or "I remembered the definition of a word but I forgot the word" の方が自然です。 つまり、「単語の名前」= "a/the (vocabulary) word" (ここで、「vocabulary」はちょっと形容動詞らしい)。英語の「vocabulary word」は正確に「単語」と少し異なります。英語で一つの言葉を「vocabulary」と呼びませ。

The comment above is a really good description of the difference (I'm assuming based on the English because I can't read Japanese :) ). You don't really have to worry about these two forms when listening however because they sound the same.
