The last working day of this year

The last working day is here.
Today was starting typically. A daily meeting was held, and then regular working time continued. However, after lunchtime, the atmosphere changed.
We had planned a white elephant gift exchange event around 2 pm, and everyone was looking forward to it. My present was a box of fancy chocolate.
Finally, the event time was coming, and we enjoyed the time. We rolled a D6 dice and swapped someone's present if needed. In the end, I've got a handmade Bongo cat plush. It was adorable, and it was made by one of our co-op students who will leave the office today, so it was a very special gift for me.
I let the co-op students go and said goodbye. It happens almost every 6 months, but it never gets used to.
We could call our day earlier after the event ended, but I stayed late because there were some tasks I needed to finish before the holiday closure.
My 2week holiday will start tomorrow. I will focus on English study and drawing during this break. And, if I have spare time, I will paint my kitchen wall and update our power outlets this holiday.

Finally, the event time was coming, and we enjoyed the time.

[Finally, the event time was coming, and we enjoyed the time.] [Finally, the event time was coming, and we enjoyed the time.]

Needs revision. 1. the word "time" appears twice. 2. there are two distinct time periods: before and during the event. Two sentences would be better.

Finally, the event time was coming, and we enjoyed the timeWhen it was finally time for the event, we had a lot of fun. When it was finally time for the event, we had a lot of fun.

We rolled a D6 dice and swapped someone's present if needed.

It happened once. "I received a cat."

It was adorable, and it was made by one of our co-op students who will leave the office today, so it was a very special gift for me.

I let the co-op students go and said goodbye.

I letsaw the co-op students goff and said goodbye. I saw the co-op students off and said goodbye.

[I let the co-op students go] and said goodbye. [I let the co-op students go] and said goodbye.

This phrasing makes it sound as if you are in charge of the co-op students. If that is true, then the sentence is perfect. If not, you could just say goodbye.

It happens almost every 6 months, but it never gets used to.

ItThis happens almost every 6six months, but it never gets used toeasier. This happens almost every six months, but it never gets easier.

It happens almost every 6six months, but itI never gets used to it. It happens almost every six months, but I never get used to it.

"get used to something" is a set phrase

We could call our day earlier after the event ended, but I stayed late because there were some tasks I needed to finish before the holiday closure.

We could call our day earlier after the event ended, but I stayed late because there were some tasks I needed to finish before the holiday closure. We could call our day earlier after the event ended, but I stayed late because there were some tasks I needed to finish before the holiday closure.

There are more time words than needed in the sentence (earlier, after, late, before). There is nothing wrong with that, but you could say the same thing with fewer of them. For example, you could delete "earlier"

My 2week holiday will start tomorrow.

My 2two-week holiday willvacation starts tomorrow. My two-week vacation starts tomorrow.

My 2two week holiday will start tomorrow. My two week holiday will start tomorrow.

We usually write out single digit numbers in a narrative.

I will focus on English study and drawing during this break.

And, if I have spare time, I will paint my kitchen wall and update our power outlets this holiday.

And, if I have spare time, I will paint my kitchen wall and update our power outlets this holiday. And, if I have spare time, I will paint my kitchen wall and update our power outlets.

If it is just one wall, keep it singular. If you will paint more than one wall, you could make it plural or just say "I will paint the kitchen" because walls are implied.
