Men Without Women
I have been reading the English version of "Men Without Women" by Haruki Murakami. It is surprisingly good material for me to learn English—the vocabulary and sentences are easy, and it doesn't use many idioms. Also, since I had already read the Mandarin version, it's easy to immerse myself in it. My ultimate goal is to be able to read English fluently, so right now I’m focusing on reading as many books as I can.
Men Without Women
I have been reading the English version of "Men Without Women" by Haruki Murakami.
It is a surprisingly good material for me to learn English—: the vocabulary and sentences are easysimple, and it doesn't use many idioms.
I would use colons or a semicolon instead of an em dash. I'm not completely sure what the formal rule is, but em dashes are typically used with short sentences and clauses.
"simple" is a bit more elegant. "easy to understand" would also work well.
Also, since I had already read the Mandarin version, it's easy to immerse myself in it.
My ultimate goal is to be able to read English fluently, so right now I’m focusing on reading as many books as I can.

I have been reading [the English version | an English translation] of "Men Without Women" by Haruki Murakami.
The first time I read this sentence, I understood it to mean that Murakami had written the book directly in English. Calling it a “translation” instead of a “version” would forestall this misunderstanding.
It is surprisingly good material for me to learn English—the vocabulary and sentences are easy, and it doesn't use many idioms.
Also, since I hadve already read the Mandarin version, it's easy to immerse myself in it.
My ultimate goal is to be able to read English fluently, so right now I’m focusing on reading as many books as I can.
