Math

(I want to say, in Tagalog: "7 times 8 is 56")

Google Translate says something like:

Pitong besas walong ay limanput anim.

(My dad, native Tagalog speaker, says this is incorrect or not common used..)

(I want to say: "7 times 8 is 56")

My dad, who's from the Philippines, says there actually isn't a word for "multiplication".

Native video of Tagalog teaching multiplication. Very unnatural to use Tagalog numbers for math

I'm from the Philippines as well and I don't know anyone who does math in Filipino that way. We would always say "times" as we learn Math in English
