The other day, I was thinking over the Venezuelan political situation and the recent Nobel Prize that was given to the Venezuelan political leader Maria Corina Machado, and how this could change the difficult circumstances that the Caribbean country is going through. Although this could favor the end of the dictatorship, we cannot ignore the fact that the Chavista regime is more complex, with more levels of power that could block Venezuelan freedom. I think that there is more to come related to the Venezuelan political struggles. However, the triumph of Maria Corina with the Nobel is a light of hope for the Venezuelan people to achieve the long-awaited democracy that they enjoyed in the past, but lost due to making bad decisions and not electing their political leaders wisely. Definitely, this chapter in Latin American history should be a lesson for Latin people and how not to choose their leaders, which means think more rationally and less emotionally
