Magpies’ New Year

Today is the last day in 2021 on the lunar calendar, and we call today is magpies’ new year.

I don’t know exactly why it is named like that, but we know that there is even a children’s song.

“Magpies’ new year is yesterday, our new year is today.”

My kids sing this song all day long, and they fell hopeful tomorrow.

Their grandfather and their uncle already gave them toys as the new year day gift.

We are going to have a ceremony for our ancestors tomorrow.

I hope they will enjoy the ceremony as well.
