When I was a child, my favourity show to watch was "prank patrol". I watched it every evening after school.
It originates from Australia and first debuted in the early 2010s.
I liked it because I found the episodes very funny. The series had main characters called "Scotty and the Ninjas", who went all over Australia, but particulraly the main cities. They had a new participant in each episode who wanted to play a prank on their friends.
"Scotty and the Ninjas" would help these participants, who were usually childeren. In one episode, they even had the Prime Minister of Australia.
Unfortunately, they cancelled it a long time ago, so I havent watched it for a long time.
I hope to hear some of your favourite series.
Ma seérie preferéférée quand j'eétais (une) enfant
Accents
You can drop the "une" here, as the standard way to give titles/professions doesn't involve articles
"UN enfant", if you're a male
Lorsque j'eétais un enfant, j'aie préféreais regarder la série "p« Prank pPatrol" ».
Background process, habit = imparfait => je préférAIS
French quotation marks = « »
J'ene la regarderais chaque soir apreès l'école.
LA série = je LA regardais
The conditional is never used to talk about habits, unlike "would" structures in English. The imparfait is used instead
-s never is a third person singular ending => c'étaiT
Better to have an adjective here => australienne
You don't need "et" if you have a relative clause
to debut, to start = débuter, démarrer; "être lancé" can also be said about TV programs
Or "au début des années deux mille" (this solution would be somehow more formal)
Imparfait once again
"je l'ai trouvé épisodes" doesn't work, it would be like saying "I found it episodes" in English, with two contradictory direct objects
Agreement of "drôle" with "les épisodes" (plural) => drôleS
Caution with false friends here: "un caaractère" in French is a nature, a personality; in a show, a character is "un personnage". Also, "une main" means "a hand". The English adjective "main" is "principal"
"parcourir tout [un pays]" would be great to translate "to go all over". "Tout" modifies "Australia" here, and refers to the whole country
"nouveauX" is a plural form, as indicated by the final -x
À un épisode ("dans" would also be right)
Same observations as above about -s endings and relative pronouns
vouloir FAIRE (infinitive) quelque chose
a = has ; à = on, at (preposition)
UN participant => ses ("his, her, its", one person having several things)
Only titles are given between quotation marks (when they can't be underlined or written in italics), here you're talking about the characters themselves
serait aidé par = would be helped by (passive form, hypothesis)
If you already have a (subject) relative pronoun, you don't need to repeat the pronoun. It's like in English, where you say "the participants who were children" not "the participants who they were children => les participants qui étaient
"premier ministre" is capitalized only when you directly address him (it's the same with "ambassadeur", "président" and titles as a whole)
It's one of the rare cases where a passive voice would sound better than an active one here ("terminé" can also be interpreted as an adjective, "the show is over")
Point of origin in time = depuis => depuis longtemps
"entendre" wouldn't really be used here, especially since you're writing (not emitting sound)
"quelques" cannot stand alone as a pronoun, it needs "un(e)" for that (varying in gender in number). "Les séries" (feminine plural) => quelques UNES
You're rather politely addressing all your potential correctors here, so the possessive "vos" (corresponding to "vous") is better IMO
Feedback
Apparently there were quite a lot of Australian TV shows targeting a kid audience that were popular in France in the 90's. I rather grew up during the 2000's so I don't really know them, but I know for a fact they existed.
You may know some shows from the French studio Xilam ("Oggy and the Cockroaches", "Space Goofs") or from Marathon ("Totally Spies!"), these were French as well as internation successes.
